Renovation of a 400 square foot house built in 1922 located in Cornish, Maine. The original foundation was 20 feet by 20 feet. At some point in the house's history a small (10' x 8') addition was put on the back. Later that addition was removed and enlarged to an addition the full width of the house and remained 8 foot deep.

Short break
Hi Everyone,
Martin ended up heading to New York city to do a specialty stair job for his brother. He is back, but while he was in NY, he came down with a miserable cold and is not headed to an tigin any time soon.
Once he is healthy, he has a local job to do.
As soon as we are making forward progress on an tigin again, I'll be posting with pictures again.
Until then, enjoy the onset of spring.

bulk head door
The bulk head door has been installed. It took a bit of fussy work, but it finally went in. One less tarp to cover the bulk head stairway.

second floor
Most of the joists and underlayment for the second floor are in. Where the rafters meet the edges of the first floor walls the joists and underlayment still need to be installed. That can't be done until the rafters are raised or the roof comes off.

milestone
The first floor is framed in!
In the above picture, I am standing in the kitchen looking at the northeast corner. The downstairs bathroom will be installed there. The picture below is taken from the living room looking into the kitchen/dining room. The view below is of the living room, front door, and bay window.
Standing in the living room (below), you can see the stairs that head to the second floor, which doesn't quite exist yet.
