Spring?

Work on an tigin has slowed a bit. The yards are still full of snow, the ground is frozen, and the weather has fluctuated between sunny and warm (brief moments), extremely windy, and rain/snow mix.

Martin is ready to put the roof on, but he needs little to no wind, a dry roof, and several days of dry weather.

We can't start work on shingling the outside or putting in the septic until the snow disappears and the ground thaws (for the septic).

I am getting excited to start hauling manure and to get my hands into the soil. I've ordered some beach plums and a friend will be sharing some rugosa roses and white lilac this spring.  I've also requested that Martin build a compost bin for me (after the snow melts). Just what he needed, another thing on the "to do" list.  If I get the soil (read sand) amended enough, I will be able to start planting perennials, bulbs, blueberry bushes, etc. this fall.
