Tiling floors always starts with putting down special underlayment. Martin has both bathrooms and the kitchen/dining room ready to be tiled.
He will start with the shower and bathtub surrounds first. Then both bathrooms get painted before floor tile gets put down.
Nothing like scraping paint of of brand-new tile! We want to avoid that as much as possible.
Martin set up the wet saw in the window reading nook so he could protect the surrounding area with plastic, since wet saws splatter a bit.
The downstairs bathtub surround is tiled. Martin needed to adapt some of the fixtures before he could grout.
Of course, Martin came up with a solution to the fixture problem and the tub is grouted.
Kitchen/Dining room floor is tiled.
The darker tiles are where the cabinets are going to go. The lighter tiles designate the dining room area.
The upstairs shower in progress.
