second coat on

We have all of the finished foundation walls coated with two coats of water proofing.  The first 5 gallon bucket hadn't been agitated.  Martin spent a lot of time trying to mix it, but the weather was cold and the stuff is very tarry.  Painting this thick, tarry mess onto the foundation walls on a cool fall day was not fun.

The second coat went on much better.  We bought a second 5 gallon bucket of the water proofing and asked the paint department to agitate it. (Smart thinking Martin)  We also were lucky because we had a unseasonably (read 60 degree) Saturday to put it on.  That meant that Martin and I both could work furiously to make sure all of the finished foundation walls were well coated the second time.  I got to do the east 31 foot long wall and most of the west 31 foot long wall, plus a bit of the front (south) wall.  Martin climbed into the hole to get the south wall which is oaver 6 foot deep, 24 foot long, and includes the bulkhead area.

The only bit left is the north foundation wall which is still under construction.
