Martin's new toy

Yeah, we have a backhoe on site.  This is Martin's new toy, a towable backhoe.  Regular, expensive, fancy backhoes either fasten to tractors that allow you to move them around or they have the capability to move. A towable backhoe basically only digs. You can move small distances (inches) by pushing or pulling with the bucket. It isn't possible to scoop up a bucketful of soil and drive the backhoe to where you want to dump the soil.  So not only did we spend the day digging out roots, but shoveling topsoil into a wheelbarrow and moving it to an out of the way location.

  1. Ha! What fun. It looks like it would be right at home on a (oversize) school playground.

    1. I could just see it! Martin could go on an adult-sized toy hunt. We could demolish the house and barn. (We wouldn't even have to fill in the basement since there isn't one). Then we could turn the property into an adult playground and charge admittance. It'll change our lives. We may never have to work again.
