The first course of blocks has been laid! Yeah! It feels great to be building up rather than tearing down. This is the very beginning of the foundation where the bulk head stairs are going to go.
The tricky part is that part of the foundation starts six feet or so below ground level, but a good portion of our foundation is only 3 feet below ground level. The six foot deep section needs to come up so it meets the 3 foot section evenly. It would be extremely frustrating (and not a little difficult) if the lower courses of block end up being an inch too low or too high, not to mention lining up vertically also.
