Renovation of a 400 square foot house built in 1922 located in Cornish, Maine. The original foundation was 20 feet by 20 feet. At some point in the house's history a small (10' x 8') addition was put on the back. Later that addition was removed and enlarged to an addition the full width of the house and remained 8 foot deep.

dirt and rock piles are growing
All of the rocks from around the house have been moved into one of these two piles. Some of the rocks are cut granite and will be saved for future use. Some of the rocks will be used for a dry well. Martin will put in a curtain drain around the house which will drain into the dry well. The rest, who knows? I might be able to use some for making raised beds for vegetable and flowers, but that's a few years down the road.
All of the sand that has been dug out so far has been dumped into this pile. When the back hoe comes, Martin will ask him to push the pile up more because all of the sand from where the back hoe will dig is going to go into this pile also.
